Jan Sutherland-Archer at the Sutherland School of Dance - Scotland's Premier Dance Academy

The Principal Teacher and Director of the Sutherland School of Dance is Jan Sutherland-Archer. She is a Fellow and Examiner of the British Theatre Dance Association, Fellow of The International Dance Teachers Association and Mutually Recognised Teacher RAD, Ballet, and a Member of the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance.

Jan is qualified to teach Tap, Classical Ballet, Jazz, European National, Acrobatic, Lyrical, Greek, Disco, Latin American and Speech & Drama. All of these disciplines are taught at Sutherland School of Dance in Alexandria and St. Michael's and All Angels Church.

At the Sutherland School of Dance we cater for students of all ages in all disciplines, from Beginners through to Professional status, Teaching Tap, Ballet, Modern, Highland, Hip-Hop, Cheer Dance Irish, Belly Dance and Acrobatics. Baby Classes From 2 1/2.

NEW TERM COMMENCES Saturday the 18th of August in Alexandria and Tuesday the 21st of August in Helensburgh.

The Sutherland School of Dance provides children with the opportunity to have fun, exercise, develop a new hobby and make new friends.

All children are given the opportunity to participate in Annual Accredited Examinations.

Some children may also be invited to compete at Stage Festivals, Highland and Cheerdance competitions.

At the start of 2006 the Sutherland School of Dance moved to Alexandria to share the fabulous premises occupied by Jan's new kidzworld business. This hasl enabled Jan to combine dance teaching with a much more varied range of activities geared to the needs of young people. All the old faces and many new ones are there and the facilities available far superior to anything previously available.
